The adjuster has a clamping clip(3) installed in a housing(7) and is clamped and released by a pressure element(4) upon which act at least two clamping levers(8) mounted in the housing. In the folded-in position the levers are located inside a safety sleeve(10) which is movable along the housing. The movement of the sleeve is assisted by a spring(6) which bears against an endcap(5) screwed onto the housing. The endpiece(12) of the cable is pressed onto the cable and is a steel component.
