PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink composition having preferable yellow characteristics, improved repairability, maintenance and functional waiting time, suitable for an ink-jet printing method, by including water, a yellow dye and urea. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) water, (B) acid yellow 23 dye and (C) urea. The component A is a liquid vehicle and may be water only or may be a mixture of water and a water-soluble or a water-miscible organic component. For example, a mixture of water/sulfolane/tripropylene glycol monomethyl ether may be preferably cited as the component A. Preferably about 3 wt.% to about 6 wt.% based on an ink of the component B and about 5 wt.% to about 15 wt.% based on the ink of the component C exist. Preferably the composition is incorporated into an ink-jet printer, the liquid drops of the ink composition are issued in an image pattern on a substrate and used. Consequently a yellow ink having excellent characteristics can be provided. |
