<p>Tailgate closer comprises latch and block or stirrup moved from open to closed by spindle (5,6) and nut (3,4) engagement. The spindles have counter-threaded parts with associated threaded nuts (3,4), using a scissor joint (9,10,11) for the closing stirrup movement in which the joint arms (10,11) carry the spindle nuts (3,4) at their far ends or else carry an internally threaded sector so the arms close in parallel. The spindles (5,6) have a bearing collar (7) between the two spindle sectors and the spindle carries a drive pinion (8).</p> |
