PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a video recorder, capable of recording video signals for plural N channels and sound signals attendant on the video signals for plural N channels in one recording medium and reproducing the video signals for plural N channels and the sound signals attendant on the video signals for plural N channels from the recording medium. SOLUTION: A video recorder is provided with plural N channel recording/ reproducing signal processing circuits A, B, including sound compression/ extension circuits 7A, 7B and video compression/extension circuits 8A, 8B, for compressing and extending digital video signals and digital sound signals attendant on the digital video signals, a time division multiplexing/distributing circuit 9, a recording modulation circuit 11 and a reproducing demodulation circuit 12 connected to the circuits A, B through the circuit 9, and a head 13 connected to the circuits 11, 12 and capable of recording/reproducing signals in/from a recording medium. |
