FIELD: veterinary science and medicine for detecting infectious and invasion disease carriers, for investigating species of parasite and injurious insect fauna and for determining their biotopes and natural zones of transmission diseases in given site. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has rectangular carcass fixed on four supports and provided with closure. Carcass is covered with small-cell net or gauze. Truncated pyramid is mounted inside carcass with apex oriented upward and being covered with net provided with inlet and outlet openings. Apparatus has guarding belt movable between upper position, when fly has free access to bait, and lower position, when space between carcass and floor is reliably shielded from environment by sides of guarding belt, and flies attracted with bait are cut off from environment and are compelled to fly only through pyramid openings into fly receiver. Apparatus is further provided with horizontal draw-out base tables with slide glass for collecting excrements and other fly excretion. Apparatus allows laboratory experiments using infectious materials as bait for flies to be performed without the risk of contaminating environment with helminth larva and pathogenic microbes.
