Method of determining the distances for switch-off and changeover of an elevator

The method involves driving the lift cabin at the arrival speed (VO) and delivering a stop command to the lift controller at an optional time whilst measuring the cabin position. The position of the cabin is then measured at which it comes to rest. The difference between the two positions is used to determine the switch-off distance (AM).- DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The changeover distance is determine for a given speed step by driving the cabin at a corresp. speed and changing over from this speed to the arrival speed at an optional time. The changeover position and arrival speed position are determined. A derived absolute arrival distance difference value is added to the absolute value of the switch-off distance.
