<p>A method of manufacturing a wrapped shirred stick as in the figure comprises closing one end (3) of a suitable length of a tubing of heat-shrinkable thermoplastic film by closing means (4), submitting a part (I') of said tubing, comprising the closing means (4) to a heat-treatment to get a substantial shrink thereof, introducing the shirred stick (2) into the partially shrunk tubing (1), with the shirred stick end that will be loaded onto the stuffing horn towards and adjacent to the shrunk part (7) of said partially shrunk tubing (1), and then closing the other end (5) of the tubing (1) by closing means (6). The above method is very simple and it can be employed also for packaging shirred sticks of heat-shrinkable films. The obtained wrapped shirred stick can be loaded on the stuffing machine without accidental deshirring of the stick at the loading step.</p> |
