Method for producing clad sheets with an abrasion resistant layer of tool steel

A block is produced by juxtaposition and assembly of at least one sheet of tool steel and at least one sheet of mild steel. The block is rolled hot and is then cooled to a temperature below 200 DEG C. An annealing of the rolled block is performed at a temperature above 450 DEG C after the cooling. The clad sheet obtained comprises a layer of tool steel which has an annealed martensite structure and contains primary carbides and a fine dispersion of secondary carbides.
