PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high density good inorg. powder molding excellent in environmental hygiene in a short time by blending a molding compsn. contg. an inorg. powder and water with a hydrophilic resin which hardens by reaction with water and carrying out molding in a prescribed shape and hardening. SOLUTION: A molding compsn. contg. an inorg. powder of about 0.1-10 μm average particle diameter such as alumina powder and water in about a volume ratio of about 60:40 to 40:60 is prepd. Preferably, the compsn. further contains about <=2 pts.wt. dispersant and about <=10 pts.wt. water-soluble org. solvent, based on 100 pts.wt. inorg. powder. The compsn. is blended with a hydrophilic resin (e.g. a hydrophilic urethane polymer having terminal isocyanato groups) as a binder in 5-40 wt.% based on the amt. of the water in the compsn. The compsn. blended with the hydrophilic resin is molded in a prescribed shape (e.g. a sheet shape) and hardened by heating to produce the objective inorg. powder molding. |
