PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for assembling universal joints are provided to simplify overall structure and to stably couple bearings by applying a servo press. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for assembling universal joints comprises a base frame(100), a part mounting unit(200), a pair of bearing press fitting unit(300), and a displacement sensing unit. The part mounting unit is located in the center part of the base frame. The bearing press fitting unit comprises a press rod(320) and a caulking tool. The displacement sensing unit detects the deformation rate of the center part of the bearing in a process for press fitting a bearing and determines whether completed products is detects or not. |
