PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device sufficiently quickly inflating an air bag even at a low gas generating pressure of an inflator. SOLUTION: A lid 16 is connected in its one end side rotatably like a door to a container 10 through a pivot 18 and a bracket 20. A loop 22 is provided in a reverse surface in the other end side of this lid 16, a rod 26 of an air cylinder 24 as an actuator is engaged with this loop 22. The vicinity of a head of the air cylinder 24 communicates with a rear part of the container 10 by a tube 32. When gas is jetted from an inflator 14 by operating it, this gas pressure is introduced into the air cylinder 24, a piston 28 is pressed, and the rod 26 is retreated to slip off from the loop 22. The lid 16 is pressed by an inflated air bag 12 and quickly opened, the air bag 12 is extended in a vehicle room. |
