PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag for a front passenger seat and a folding method thereof capable of applying sufficient restricting force to an occupant by stabilizing bag inflation, performing inflation more gently, reducing a cost, without applying unnecessary local pressing force to a glass, and capable of preventing generation of damage in the bag. SOLUTION: In this air bag for a front passenger driver seat, a loosened part 5F is provided only in a windshield side in the case of storing the bag 1 in an air bag case 2. The bag 1 is stored in a manner wherein its tip end part is folded or rolled in an opposite windshield side. consequently, at inflation time, gas first flows in this loosened part 5F to preferentially inflate the windshield side. Accordingly, the bag 1 is developed from the windshield side in inflating and the bag 1 inflated abuts to a windshield by unfolding, a pressure thereto is lessened. |
