Cartridge for generating underwater explosions comprises an explosive charge 8 sealed into the rounded end of a casing 2 with a plug 10; a concentric tube housing a detonator 11; and a relay charge 9. The casing 2 and tube 1 are made of a material which yields or ruptures under the effect of the explosion, e.g., plastics material. Locking member 12 retains the detonator. The explosive charge may be pentrite. The relay charge can be contained within the explosive charge 8 as shown, or, within the tube 1 where it either surrounds one end of the detonator or is connected thereto by a tubular, spacing sleeve. |
