The device comprises a long superconducting-normal conducting-superconducting (SNS-3) joint with a normal conductor connected to the normal conducting part of the joint via a tunnel for electron injection. Independent claims are also included for (a) a method for regulating an SNS-3-type device by regulating emitter-collector current (Isd) at constant applied voltage, with the aid of a base current (Ig), and (b) a transistor device based on this SNS-3 terminal.
