Molds and core elements to be hardened are located in a closed container (4) provided with controllable inlets (8, 9, 10) of air supply, and an outlet (6) for evacuation of air and water vapor. The air supplied into the container is directed to produce a scavenging effect which accelerates evacuation of the water vapor, and ensures rapid and homogeneous hardening of molds and core elements.
