A liquid crystal panel drive and a method of driving a liquid crystal panel are adapted to improve the hysteresis of the liquid crystal panel. The liquid crystal panel drive for driving a liquid crystal panel according to an input image signal comprises a coefficient generation means for generating a coefficient according to the level of the input image signal, a revision means for revising the reference peak level on the basis of the current level of the input image signal and the current reference peak level, a means for generating a corrected value on the basis of the peak level and the current level of the input image signal, a multiplication means for multiplying the corrected value by the coefficient and an addition means for adding the output of the multiplication means to the current input image signal to produce a drive signal for the liquid crystal panel. <IMAGE> |
