PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas analysis method, in which the accuracy of a gas analyzer can be kept in a good state, even when it is difficult to keep the conversion efficiency of a catalyst at a high state, and to provide a gas analyzer. SOLUTION: A gas analyzer is provided with a catalyst 2a by which NO2 as a component to be measured, which is contained in a gas S to be measured is converted into NO as a measuring component which can be measured by a detector 3. In the gas analyzer, a calibration gas which comprises the NO2 , as the component to be measured, whose concentration is known is converted by the catalyst 2a so as to be gas-analyzed, an efficiency measurement which is used to measure the conversion efficiencyαof the catalyst 2a is performed, and then the output of the detector 3 is amplified to a reciprocal multipleβof the comversion efficiencyα.
