WORT EVAPORATION WITH HEAT RECOVERY BY SCREW COMPRESSOR THERMOCOMPRESSION

Energy is recovered from thickening processes of liqs. in the food industry when the process is carried out at atmospheric pressure by the application of heat. Vapours which have been released by the thickening process are first compressed adiabatically, followed by isobaric cooling to achieve condensn. Heat recovered is re-utilised for the thickening process. Used in dairies and for mash or wort boiling in breweries. This greatly reduces the power requirement and eliminates the emission of smells during mash or wort boiling.
