The voltage supply circuit (17) controls the rectifier (11). The rectifier (11) is designed to convert a multi-phase a.c. source current into a continuos current which has an output voltage (V0) between nodes (V0+, V-). The rectifier circuit includes: - at least two branches, connected between the nodes (V0+, V-), each branch includes a diode and a grid controlled lockable MOS switch, where the anodes of the diodes are connected to the node (V0-). The cathodes of the diodes are connected to a gate controlled lockable MOS switch in the input terminals of the a.c. current. Another terminal of the grid controlled lockable MOS switch is connected to the node (V0+), and; - a capacitor (C) is connected between the nodes (V0+,V0-). The voltage control circuit (17) controls the firing angles of the respective gate controlled lockable MOS switches so that: - the output voltage sensibly follows a linear ramp with an initial low base value and a relatively high final value, and; - the charge current applied to the capacitor is controlled. |
