The pump (10) is of the rotary vane type, with a pump chamber or working chamber (24,68) whose volume varies as the rotor (14) turns. There is a cover plate (30) sealed (34) to the walls (22) of the outer casing (12) of the chamber. There is a pedestal inside the chamber, onto which the rotor fits. As the rotor turns, fuel is alternately drawn in through the inlet and blown out through the outlet.
