The skin is illuminated by white, red and green electroluminescent diodes (110) and observed by a video camera (100). The PAL signal from the camera is converted to Red, Green and Blue (201) and then to equivalent numerical levels (202) before processing (300). The processor produces a screen image (400), CIE tristimulus values X, Y, Z, associated parameters L asterisk , a asterisk , b asterisk and also regulates the illuminating diodes (110)
