PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant aromatic polyamide resin composition improved in e.g. heat stability, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, while maintaining excellent flame retardancy and moldability, and to obtain parts for surface mounting, e.g. connectors. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by incorporating (A) 100 pts.wt. of an aromatic polyamide composed of (a) dicarboxylic acid component unit consisting of 40-100 mol.% of terephthalic acid component unit, 0-60 mol.% of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid component unit other than terephthalic acid and 0-60 mol.% of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid component unit and (b) diamine component unit consisting of 50-100 mol.% of 4-18C aliphatic diamine component unit and 0-50 mol.% of 4-18C alicyclic diamine component unit with (B) 30-60 pts.wt. of brominated polystyrene; wherein the brominated polystyrene has a bromine content of 63-70 wt.%, and the concentration of Br atom detected as Br<-> in the gas emitted under a heating condition at 300 deg.C for 15 min. is <=100 ppm. |
