PURPOSE:To provide a high silicon iron sheet having superior high frequency magnetic characteristics and workability by manufacturing an iron alloy having a specified Si content by refining, hot rolling and warm or cold rolling the alloy and annealing it at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:An iron alloy contg. 4-7wt% Si is manufactured by refining. The alloy is hot rolled so that the average interval between grain boundaries in the thickness direction is preferably regulated to <=lambda0(mm) represented by a formula lambda0=1.90-0.26XSi(wt%). It is then warm or cold rolled and annealed at about 600-1,000 deg.C. Thus, a high silicon iron sheet having superior frequency magnetic characteristics and workability can be manufactured. Since the annealing can be carried out at such a relatively low temp. in a short time, the iron sheet can be manufactured at a low cost with high productivity.
