COLOR FILTER FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL COLOR DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To increase the light transmittance of transparent electrodes in picture element parts so that the electric charge captured in said parts can be taken out of the thick parts of the electrode film with low resistance by increasing the thickness of the transparent electrode film on a black matrix. CONSTITUTION:Color filters formed of the black matrix 3, the respective picture elements 2, and the transparent electrode film 6 covering the same is provided to a glass substrate 1 confronting a glass substrate provided with a thin film transistor array with a liquid crystal in-between. The film 6 is formed to the thickness larger on the matrix 3 than on the picture elements 3 to increase the light transmittance of the picture element parts 3 so that the electric charge captured in said parts can be taken out of the thick parts of the film with the low resistance and can be thereby quickly removed. As a result, the generation of disturbance in the display image by a change in the voltage to be impressed to the liquid crystal is prevented.
