PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply an optical signal waveform measuring method by which time resolution is not degraded by variation in optical length of a resonator of a short-pulse laser. SOLUTION: An optical pulse train generated by a short-pulse laser 100 is divided into two and is allowed to trace two different optical paths 103, 104, 105 and 106 which have relative delay time difference which is a multiple of cycle period of the optical pulse train by an integer, excluding zero. Then the two pulse trains are inputted a cross-correlation gage 107 for giving a variable relative delay between the two pulse trains. The two pulse trains are integrated and concentrated in a medium having an optical nonlinear effects. The size of generated non-linear signals is measured and recorded as function of relative delays. In this method, the pulse laser 100 is provided with a mechanism 101 for adjusting the optical length of a resonator, the generated nonlinear longitudinal signals are converted into electrical signals, and the mechanism 101 is driven based on the size of the electric signals. |
