PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for writing and displaying virus detection history data on a license use condition for reducing a redundant work related with the detection and removal of computer virus. SOLUTION: A virus detection history managing device 10 is constituted of a virus detection history processing means 30 and a memory 32 for storing virus detection history data. The virus detection history managing device is provided with an input and output processing means 34 for outputting and displaying the virus detection history data stored in the memory to a user terminal 5. The input and output processing means is operated when a digital content is activated, or when the display of the virus detection history data is required. The virus detection history managing device is provided with a communication processing means 36 for transmitting the virus detection history data stored in the memory through a network to a license control center 4.
