The switch contact system has flexible conductor leads (15) attached to a current rail (16), for current feed to the movable switch contacts. The ends of the conductor leads are received in grooves lying on one or both sides of at least one channel (20,21) formed in the end face of the current rail across its width. The end face of the current rail may have several channels across its width, with their bases lying at different depths, for access to the ends of respective inserted flexible conductor leads.
