PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable stripper capable of detecting the existence of contact between a cutting edge and a core, when stripping the insulating layer at the end of a winding type of cable where the core part made of a conductor wound in coil form with an insulating layer. SOLUTION: A pair of cutting edges 54A bite into the end of a high tension cable 1 so as to strip the insulating cable at the end. An inductive coil part 72A is arranged around the cover of the high tension cable 1, and induced electromotive force is generated in the conductor wound spirally. At stripping, when the cutting edge 54A makes contact with the conductor, the induced current flows to the ground through the cutting edge 54A, so that a contact detection means 90A detects this thereby detecting the existence of the contact between the cutting edge 54A and the conductor. |
