INDIVIDUAL WHEEL SUSPENSION IN THE FORM OF A SEMI-TRAILING ARM WITH A WHEEL GUIDING A-ARM AND A BAR-SHAPED STRUT

The invention relates to an individual wheel suspension in the form of a semi-trailing arm with a wheel guiding A-arm which is elastically mounted on at least two points of the bodywork of the vehicle and a bar-shaped strut which is disposed in a laterally offset position inbetween the A-arm and the bodywork of the vehicle. The bar-shaped strut is mounted in rigid ball and socket joints on both sides between the bodywork of the vehicle and the A-arm. The joints of the semi-trailing arm or A-arm on the bodywork side are arranged in what is an approximately straight line. The bar-shaped strut is at the most half as long as the average length of the A-arm. Both struts are disposed on what is approximately the same plane. The invention provides an individual wheel suspension that precludes lateral oversteering despite the fact that the semi-trailing arm is mounted in an elastic position.
