PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make excellent in coloring sensitivity, water resistance, oil resistance, and preservability of an anti-plasticizer property or the like, and further anti-sticking property, dreg adhering resistance, and an anti-abrasion property of a thermal head, and also make high speed printing images clear, and avoid nonprinting from fogging. SOLUTION: Modified vinylalcohol(PVA) having a fluorine-containing group is used to a recording material, In particular, a protection layer containing modified PVA having a fluorine-containing group is furnished on a thermal coloring layer. Such a fluorine-containing group can be either in the terminal of PVA or in the side-chain thereof, however, when it is in the terminal, characteristics of water resistance, oil resistance, or the like of a recording material becomes particularly excellent. In the protection layer to be formed on the surface of a thermal coloring layer, combined use of a water soluble polymer having film making capability and modified PVA is preferable, and a quantity of use of modified PVA is at 80 wt.% or less to a total quantity of a protection layer-forming polymer material. |
