PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an antihemolytic substance capable of extending storage time of bank bloods. SOLUTION: The juice of stem parts of pineapples and their juice wastes are boiled in the presence of sulfuric acid and then extraction-treated with an organic solvent. The sulfuric acid content of the juice is preferably about 2%, and the organic solvent is preferably ethyl acetate.
