COCONUT FIBER PLATE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high strength and good permeability and insert easily a fiber mat in the compression process by making curable resin adhere to the fiber mat formed of coconut fibers, placing the material on a plate of specified thickness and then inserting the same between hot plates of a compression molding machine. SOLUTION: Coconut fibers are interlocked together to form a fiber mat 2. Curable resin is sprayed on both faces of the mat by a spray gun and made to adhere thereon. Then the fiber mat 2 is cut into the proper size in compliance with the purpose of use. Then the cuts are placed on a plate 7 and then introduced together with the plate 7 into a compression molding machine 9 to form a fiber plate. The thickness of the plate 7 is selected properly in compliance with the rigidity, heat conductivity and the like to be used, and usually the thickness is 1-20 mm. The plate 7 is drawn out together with the fiber plate after molding. High strength and good permeability can be provided and the fiber mat can be inserted easily in the compression process by the arrangement.
