INORGANIC COATING COMPOSITION AND HYDROPHILIC INORGANIC COATING FILM

An inorganic coating composition comprising as major components a photooxidizable silicone resin having photooxidizable groups and a photosemiconductive material. Examples of the photooxidizable groups include C3+ alkyls, cycloalkyls, aralkyls, aryls, alkenyls, halogenohydrocarbon groups, groups having a tertiary hydrogen atom (>CH-), groups having a carbon-carbon double bond and a C-H bond in the alpha -position with respect to the double bond, and groups having a branching point. The hydrophilic inorganic coating film formed from the inorganic coating composition has high sensitivity to ultraviolet. Its surface rapidly becomes hydrophilic upon exposure to weak ultraviolet.
