The differential gear and pinion structure provide a small volume mechanism within watch casing. The indicator showing the reserve of energy in the watch consists of a plate (5) with a differential gearing system. The satellite gear (6) of this differential gearing system engages with both an operating pinion (4), and with the interior toothed rack of the differential ring gear (9) pivoting about the plate. This is driven through the intermediary of a pinion on the shaft of the barrel (13). The indicator may be seen on the face of the watch as a segment of a circle within which a coloured indicator covers a variable proportion of the segment. |
