The heater has a permanent magnet (3), or electromagnet, and conductor (4), formed from a material whose electrical hysteresis is large, positioned facing each other with a narrow gap through which heat transferring fluid is heated by the slip heat which is generated, due to eddy currents, in the conductor by relatively rotating the magnet and conductor.
