摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical probe in which the size of a very small opening part in a cone part can be adjusted with good accuracy without damaging the cone part at the tip of the probe, by a method wherein the cone part and a working face are pressed relatively to each other, and the very small opening part by which the vertex part of the cone part of an optical fiber is exposed from a light shielding film is formed. SOLUTION: The cone part 15 of an optical fiber is pressed firmly to a working face 20 which is harder than a light shielding film on a probe and which is softer than a core, and a very small opening part is formed by a simple manufacturing method without damaging the cone part 15 mechanically. In addition, in the probe which is manufactured by the manufacturing method, only the film thickness of an edge part near the opening part which is composed of the plastically deformed light shielding film becomes thicker than that before the cone part 15 is pressed and worked. As a result, the contrast of light which is transmitted through the very small opening part is enhanced, the spatial resolution of the probe is enhanced, it is not required to make the film thickness of the light shielding film thick in other parts of the cone part 15, and its production costs are not increased. In addition, since the film thickness in the tip part of the light shielding film is thick, the thermal conductivity of the light shielding film is enhanced, and the heat resistance of the light shielding film is improved.
