The inventive device for producing ozone from oxygen-containing gases has a first electrode (2), a second electrode (1) which is arranged at a distance from the first electrode (2), a dielectric layer (4) which is positioned between the first electrode (2) and the second electrode (1), separating them from each other, and a gas gap (3) which is also located between the first electrode (2) and the second electrode (1) and through which the oxygen-containing gas is passed. The dielectric layer (4) is produced from an aluminium-, copper- and/or transition metal-containing steel alloy which can be converted into a ceramic layer at high temperatures in a burning process.
