PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical double layer capacitor wherein internal resistance is low, capacity per unit volume is large, and superior in voltage- maintaining characteristics. SOLUTION: For a nonaqueous electrical double layer capacitor, in which a separator is allocated between positive and negative poles comprising carbon electrode, a sheet whose thickness is 10-80 μm as well as with percentage of void 50-85% and a spacer of net-like object whose thickness is 10-60 μm and percentage of aperture is 30-80% with sieve opening 100-350 mesh are stacked to be used as a separator. With this method, an electrical double layer capacitor, in which the internal resistance is low, of less self-discharge, superior voltage- maintaining characteristics, and high capacity density, is provided. Even through the electrical double layer capacitor has a structure where electrodes and separators are laminated in high density, productivity is high because liquid- absorption characteristic of the electrolytic solution at manufacturing is superior. |
