PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the C/N, erasing ratio, modulation degree, recording sensitivity and repetitive recording and erasing characteristics of an optical recording medium used at 7 to 20 m/s in the relative speed at the time of recording and erasing a recording layer with respect to a light beam. SOLUTION: The recording layer 4 of the optical recording medium 1 is formed of a chalcobalite type compd. of 0 atm.%<α<=25 atm.%, 1 atm.%<=β<=17 atm.%, 43 atm.%<=γ<=75 atm.% and 15 atm.%<=δ<=34 atm.% in the compsn. ratios of Au, In, Sb and Te respectively expressed by α, β, γ and δ, where 99 atm.%<=α+β+γ+δ<=100 atm.%. |
