PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide access support information reflecting the whole contents of pages so that a retriever can retrieve required pages as much as possible in the case of retrieving and accessing pages of a language other than a required language. SOLUTION: The inter-language information retrieval supporting device has a 1st language co-occurrence frequency table 14 storing combination frequency indicating the simultaneous appearance of plural words of a 1st language in a page, a translation means 10b for translating each of plural words of a 2nd language appearing in one document information retrieved by a retrieving means 10c to one or more translated words of the 1st language and a retrieving means for retrieving a high frequency combination indicating the simultaneous appearance of plural translated words of the 1st language between words of the 2nd language from the table 14 by using the translated words of the 1st language. |
