PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition capable of allowing a microbicidal agent to be present within an acidic region mild to the skin, capable of manifesting excellent detergency, foam-breaking and deodorant properties and useful for a hand soap or the like by including anα-olefinsulfonic acid salt, an organic acid and the microbicidal agent. SOLUTION: This detergent composition having a pH regulated so as to be 3.0-5.5 contains (A) anα-olefinsulfonic acid salt such as a compound of the formula RCH=CHCH2 So3 X (R is a 1-4C saturated hydrocarbon; X is an alkali metal atom), (B) an organic acid such as citric acid, lactic acid and pyrrolidonecarboxylic acid, and (C) a microbicidal agent such as benzalkonium chloride, trichlorocarbanilide and chlorhexidine gluconate. preferably, the composition contains 3.0-40.0 wt.% component A and 0.01-6.0 wt.% component B.
