The apparatus comprises a detector (10) consisting of a matrix of optoelectronic sensors. A diffuse optical plate (34) is placed temporarily in the beam-path, creating a uniform illumination of all the sensors in the matrix. From the response of the different sensors to this illumination, offset values are derived, which are used to compensate future images for the differences in sensor response.- DETAILED DESCRIPTION - To maintain focussing despite variations in temperature a temperature compensating spacer (28) is placed between the nose and the ring (30) on which the meniscal lens (24) is mounted.The spacer, which has a coefficient of expansion that is appropriate for the system, will expand with increasing temperature and urge the lens (24) rearwards against opposing forces form a spring (32) mounted on the ring (30) |
