PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a display unit and to facilitate the excellent reading of a display and a nameplate by arranging a front face directed toward the observer of a display within a flat plane the same as a front face directed toward the observer of the nameplate. SOLUTION: A display unit for an automobile is equipped with the nameplate 1 of a pointer measuring instrument and a display 2. The pointer measuring instrument has a scale 3 arranged on the name plate 1 and a pointer 4 rotatably held on the scale 3. In this case, the pointer measuring instrument is formed for measuring a rotating speed. The display 2 is arranged in the central area of the nameplate 1 and for instance, used for the display of time. Reflection does not occur between the nameplate 1 and the display which may be a liquid crystal picture plane. In addition, the formation of a shade due to an effect of light projected from the outside can be surely avoided. The display unit can obtain the especially fine reading of the display and the nameplate. The constructing depth of the display unit is especially small and its structure is very simple. |
