PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the production efficiency of a print by extracting a primary object using the extraction parameter of an image whose the primary object is already extracted. SOLUTION: At a set-up part, the state of a primary part is classified into plural types and several methods from object extraction methods are selected according to the respective states of the primary part. Thus, a suitable primary extraction algorithm is set. In normal primary extraction, many objects are extracted corresponding to the top-bottom directions in all directions in order to extract a face in response to various images. Thus, the face is extracted by using the result. If the states of the primary part e.g., the top-bottom direction and the size, etc., are known, it is not required to extract the many objects in response to the various image states and if the objects are extracted in response to the states of the primary part, sufficiently high accuracy extraction is performed. Accordingly, the arithmetic time, etc., can be significantly shortened for an image having its preceding similar image and the high accuracy extraction can satisfactorily be performed. |
