A device for use in interaction with a seat and seat-belt in a means of transport such as, e.g., a car, bus, train, boat or aeroplane, for restraining and securing a carrycot or perambulator cot containing an infant or a container containing an animal, e.g., a cat or dog. The device consists of a bottom part (1) designed to rest against the seat portion of the seat; a back plate (4) which is hingedly connected (5) to the bottom part (1) along a first, rear long edge thereof and intended to at least partly form abutment with the back of the chair; a front plate (2) which is hingedly connected (3) to the bottom part (1) along a second, front long edge thereof; a curtain, net or the like (10) which releasably forms a connection (6, 8; 7, 9) between an upper portion of the back plate (4) and an upper portion of the front plate (2); said cot or container (23) thus having its bottom defined by the bottom (1), its longitudinal sides by the front plate (2) and the back plate (4), and its top by the said curtain, net or the like (10). There is a first guide (15) in the bottom part (1) for receiving at least a portion of the lap belt part (16) of the seat-belt; and at least one second guide (17; 17', 17'') in the outward facing side of the front plate for receiving a portion of the upward running diagonal part or shoulder belt part (18) of the seat-belt, the second guide (17; 17', 17'') being arranged in a shock-absorbing, compressible element (22) secured to or integrated into the front plate (2).
