Apparatus and method for removing a burr on a cutting edge of a continuous casted part

A method for removing burrs from the cut ends of metal strip eg. injection casting, has a rotating cylinder whose surface (26) is pressed onto the burrs (4) by a hydraulic servo drive. The surface of the cylinder can be replaced and is covered with an array of metal studs which buff the burrs. The axis of the cylinder is further mounted on a control arms which contacts the hydraulic ram mounting via a cam, to vary the position of the cylinder.
