A finishing method and finishing tools of leather for percussion instruments are provided to allow the leather to make a good sound and to increase durability by expanding the leather of hit portion with pressing. A finishing tool(50) is formed to obtain a good sound with maintaining durability of leather by stretching a hit portion with pressing and thereby making the portion softer while reducing the thickness. The finishing tool includes a finishing wheel(53), a wheel shaft(55) projected to both sides by interposing a bearing(54) on the finishing wheel and pressing pins(56,57) formed on a surface of the wheel, which stretch the leather with pressing. The height of the pressing pins is lower than the thickness of the leather. |
