<p>Cermet for a lamp containing at least a substance larger in linear thermal expansion coefficient than a transparent ceramics forming the discharge vessel (10) of a ceramic discharge lamp and a substance smaller in linear thermal expansion coefficient than the transparent ceramics. The ceramic discharge lamp provided with a ceramic discharge vessel having an arc tube (11) housing a pair of electrodes (21) therein and a side tube (12), wherein a sealing member (24) in which the base end of an electrode rod (22) having an electrode (21) at the tip end thereof is embedded, is frit deposited on the side tube (12) to thereby form a sealing structure, the sealing member (24) comprising the above cermet for a lamp.</p> |
