A colloidal solution for controlling red tide is provided to make it not necessary to concern about secondary environmental pollution such as toxicity in fish and shellfish, excessive loss of surface soil on the surface of the ground, and the like, and exhibit peculiar annihilation of red tide microorganisms although the colloidal solution is less used, and a method for controlling red tide using the colloidal solution is provided. A colloidal solution for controlling red tide comprises, as an active ingredient, natural mineral nanoparticles which have an average particle diameter of not greater than 500 nm, and comprise 40 to 60 wt.% of SiO2, 10 to 25 wt.% of Al2O3, and 10 to 25 wt.% of Fe2O3, wherein the natural mineral nanoparticles have a concentration of 0.01 to 50 w/v%. The colloidal solution further comprises at least one component selected from the group consisting of CaO, MgO, K2O, Na2O, TiO2, and P2O5. The colloidal solution further comprises at least one component selected from the group consisting of 0.01 to 1.0 wt.% of CaO, 0.1 to 8.0 wt.% of MgO, 0.5 to 7.0 wt.% of K2O, 0.01 to 5.0 wt.% of Na2O, 0.1 to 5.0 wt.% of TiO2, and 0.01 to 2.0 wt.% of P2O5. A dispersion medium of the colloidal solution is water or seawater. |
