The bags (11) are hung in a bundle (12) from their top edges on supports such as pegs (15) in a holder (13), and as the front side of the bag is pulled off the supports it comes away from the rear side, partly opening the bag before the rear side is pulled off as well. The open bag is pulled over the bottom of the box or crate, leaving the top part of the bag sticking up from the top side of the box or crate, and this top part is then folded back over the box or crate walls to leave it open. Goods are added to the open box or crate and then the film is sealed and excess film material optionally removed. Independent claims are also included for (a) the packaging machine used in the above method, (b) a fully automated packaging line containing this machine, (c) the flat film bags used in this packaging method, (d) the bag storage holder used in this packaging method, (e) a method for preparing a bundle of the flat film bags for this holder, and (f) a bundle of flat film bags prepared by this method. |
